100th day and other winter activities

We are off to another busy week here in first grade.we are past 100 days and on our way to 2nd grade! I am so proud of all my firsties! They work so hard everyday! Our Fancy Nancy story this week is Fancy Nancy Puppy Party. So....I created a puppy packet to go along with our skills we are working on this week...long and short vowel sounds, compound words, and paw print read the room sight words. Check out some of the pics...
I will have this available on Teachers Pay Teachers in the next day or two. Here's some pics of my son's 100th day activity...they are having a fashion show of 100 things glued to a shirt or hat. We chose 100 googly eyes...25 of each size.
we had a lot of fun! have a great evening everyone!

100th Day Celebration!

Hey everyone! What a great week celebrating the 100th day! First we read Fancy Nancy the 100th Day of School. we learned 8 new vocab words from our story and used them all week. My students love this. They played thier vocab game at the workstation and wrote poems at our writing workstation. I like to use the term workstation instead of centers because it let's us know we are working and not playing...even though we are having so much fun :) I have made many Fancy Nancy packets, we do one each week. I have five stations for the week. Fancy Nancy, Writing, Word Work, Listening, and Read to Self from tne Daily Five. Oops....I got way off topic....100th day....After reading and discussing other books about the 100th day, we work on our 100th Day Booklet I created and my other pages....take a look-see:

Fancy Nancy

Hey everyone! Well it was an exhausting week, but aproductive one. We had a fab time learning our robust vocabulary from our fav story character.... Fancy Nancy! I read the story Fancy Nancy There's No Day Like a Snow Day on Monday. We learned 7 new vocab words from the story and completed workstations I created throughout the week. Here are some pics...
I went to the DollarStore....like every week....lol. I thought these baskets would go good with my winter wonderland theme. I organize my workstations in each....
this is Fancy Nancy workstation. I put the vocab cards in a smaller basket and the definitions in another.
Viola...
and here are the writing and word work stations. These r all on my tpt site along with some freebies just for you! How do you organize your stations? And do you use Fancy Nancy books in your classroom? Thanks for stopping by! Have a great night!

New Year's

Hello everyone! Hope your new year is going well! It's a new year and a fresh start. I have been busy creating new packets and lessons. I found an adorable story to teach my firsties about new year resolutions....Squirrel's New Year's Resolution. This is a great story about what a resolution is and how to make your own. I created a mini unit packet to use with the book. My students loved learning all about resolutions. It was a great discussion!
